The OxRockBlock Returns!

Hey there! Oxdarock here!

After some technical difficulty, the OxRockBlock is finally back in business! Of course many of you might’ve not know that it was out of commission recently, but nevertheless, it’s not officially back up and running! That said, I thought I’d let everyone know about my status as of late.

Now, as far as the OxRockBlock is concerned, as usual, I’m constantly adding and changing things around in order to improve the overall quality of my website. I’ve revamped the Art Gallery page, adding even more artwork than before. Of course, due to the sheer amount of works that I’ve posted, most of them aren’t in any kind of order prior to the pictures of this post (which you can see below). What’s more, I’ve done a bit of tweaking with the view settings of the gallery, simplifying things for the most part. While it might not be reasonable to expect comment on each and every picture I’ve done, I thought it might be pointing out the rating system (the star in the view screen menu). At the very least, I’d like to know which pictures I’ve done that people like the most, so I’ve made a simple rating system: 1 star means you like it, 2 stars means you really like it, and 3 stars means you love it! Easy, right?

Next on the list concerns my Patreon. In short, I’ve pretty much closed that up as of today. The reason is two-fold. One is that running a Patreon campaign for a year made it painfully obvious where I stand in as far as popularity goes, which didn’t seem to be much. Either I didn’t really offer much or people weren’t really interested. Who knows. The more serious reason however concerns Patreon’s pledge system. Basically, I got a lot of dine n dashers, people who would make a pledge on my Patreon, download everything in my gallery within minutes, then delete their pledges. Now, I’ve realized that I’m not as popular as I thought I was, but that was just adding insult to injury. It got so bad that I eventually turned off the email notification that I’d received a new patron since I was almost positive that said patron would disappear soon after. All in all, I don’t think Patreon is right for me, at least right now with the way pledges work. I did try to salvage it with the “pay per post” option, but soon found out that patrons still get charged on a monthly basis, which didn’t really solve the problem. Only way I’d reopen is if Patreon gained a feature that charged new patrons once the moment they pledge (it can even count towards the next month’s collected pledges) as well as charging patrons that try switching to higher tiers. However, as it stands, it’s just brings too much stress and isn’t really worth it for me right now.

Now concerning my Ask blog that I have on Tumblr. As it stands, I don’t really know what to do with that at the moment since my Patreon is caput. I may answer a bunch of the questions I have piled up on a whim, but as it stands, I wouldn’t expect many updates from there. ^^;

Next on the list are the recent uploads to the art gallery! Here they are!
