OxRock 2025 Reflections

Hey there, Oxdarock here!

As the year slowly changes around the world, I thought now would be a good time to reflect on 2025 for me, personally. For the positives, I got to visit with my dad after several years and connect with my youngest siblings and I’ve also gotten access to multiple betas for a couple of gacha I play. Art wise, my ventures with the Squish Tips, Squish Drives, and Sponsored Commissions have had some success and I’ve gotten a better idea of the direction I want to take my art going forward. For negatives, particularly regarding art, I feel like I have been way too distracted of late, haven’t gotten quite a lot done quantitively, and have neglected my Patreon quite a bit. That last bit is especially true and something I want to fix for 2026, though I’m already getting to a bad start cause this week is also filled with distractions, gah! Still, I’ve laid down the foundations, so things should see some improvement soon starting next week.

Above all, however, I want to thank everyone who has continued to financially support me over the year, whether it’s via Patreon, my store, or my tip jars. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t desire more comments and head pats to stroke my ego, but just the fact that there are people willing to throw money my way to see more of my works always fills me with gratitude. In fact, side tangent, it’s one of the reasons I don’t have a huge opinion on the rise of generative AI. I have my concerns, especially when it comes to future generations taking up the craft, but at the end of the day, it’s the audience who decide the value of someone’s work and whether they choose to support it or not. So long as platforms filter out what’s AI and what isn’t, I don’t particularly feel threatened and whatnot.

Anyway, that’s about it for my personal reflection! I hope everyone has a Happy New Year! See you in 2026!
