Hey there, Oxdarock here!
For those who don’t know, it’s officially the 4th anniversary of Honkai Impact 3rd’s EN server! So, here’s a fanart piece that I worked like a madlad to complete (along with one other picture) featuring three playable characters: Mei Raiden (left) in her Herrsher of Thunder form, Senti (aka Herrsher of Sentience), and adult Bronya. I’ve had this idea in my head for quite a while and decided to use the anniversary as an excuse to finally draw it.
(More commentary on my thoughts regarding the completion of this picture can be viewed by joining my Patreon)
As for my thoughts on Honkai Impact 3rd as a game, I absolutely love it. While I highly doubt I would have stuck with it when it first released, the timing I did join was perfect. While there are several gacha banners and the cost to roll on them is on the expensive side, the rates are actually fairly decent, at least in my experience, not to mention the game throws a lot of crystals at you, rerun banners are frequent, and the battle pass actually has really good items.
What’s more, a lot of characters are easily easily acquired, whether through farming, events, and some game modes which don’t even require rolling, not to mention that pretty much all of the content is clearable without the need to whale. Even then, the gacha being expensive seems warranted given that the game has player leaderboards. However, over time they’ve made it so that no only do you not need to reach the highest rank for each character, but the minimum needed for them to feel powerful is fairly attainable with some saving.
And of course there’s the amazing story, which was the thing that drew me into the game and did not disappoint, along with all the fun game modes, almost none of which have been boring. I could go on, but it’s easy to get lost of at least an hour of playing on the daily, which isn’t even needed due to a lot of auto clearing features.
It may still be a gacha, so experiences vary greatly, but I believe that it’s truly evolved into a great game over the years (which makes it odd that its popular little sister game hasn’t taken some lessons from it). Anyway, Happy 4th Anniversary, Honkai Impact 3rd!!!
That’s all for now!
